History teacher and director of the Glee club at McKinley High. Will Schuester is incredibly dedicated to the Glee Club, which he names New Directions in hopes of directing a choir based group to fame. Will's childhood of being on the Glee club initially sparks his interest until he meets the kids who then change his life forever.
Will was formerly the spanish teacher before the episode The Spanish Teacher and then became the history teacher of William McKinley High School. Will was also previously married to Terri Schuester before divorcing her. He is now engaged to and living with Emma Pillsberry.

[edit] Before the Show
Before Glee entered his life, Will Schuester was an ordinary Spanish teacher coping with an insane wife who was not the teenager sweet heart he had once met. His dreams of broadway soon vanished when he was forced to give up everything to support his wife and his lives, along with the fake baby that his wife created as a plan to keep him from leaving her.
When the former Glee Club teacher is fired and the club is up for grabs, Will, assisted emotionally by Emma Pillsberry, relives his childhood dreams and attempts to complete the kids' who join the club. He becomes very passionate about the kids who join and the club itself because of this.
